Yogurt reduces depression

Yogurt is a traditional Bulgarian product, popular for its beneficial bacteria. His administration provides health benefits for the whole body. U.S. scientists recently discovered that besides the already known advantages yogurt brings additional benefits for the people. It decreases the activity in brain regions associated with emotional and pain. Meanwhile yogurt increases the activity responsible for decision-making.

The mechanisms behind these changes remain unclear. It is known only that specific bacteria contained in the food, send signals to the brain, which may change over time and depending on the diet. It is hoped that one day probiotic therapy can be used to treat conditions such as anxiety, depression, autism, and Alzheimer's disease.

The results showed that probiotics in yogurt can improve a person's mood, affecting the functioning of his brain. Tests have shown that people who eat probiotic yoghurt twice a day for one month, has an altered brain function. Symbiotic bacteria in the gut are a complex ecosystem of microorganisms.

They are good for health because it increases immunity, help digestion and maintain a healthy weight and blood pressure. It is also known that the brain sends signals to the gut because of stress or emotions, and this can lead to gastrointestinal symptoms. U.S. study shows the feedback from the food and the brain, and that yogurt can actually change the way a person reacts to the environment, the newspaper Daily Mail.
