Health lies in a bowl of cherries

Cherries are one of the most popular summer fruits, and it really are super food filled with antioxidants and anthocyanins which are known to reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer. In addition, cherries contain melatonin, an enzyme which helps to regulate the circadian rhythms of the body: the heart rate and the sleep cycle. They are saturated with the vitamins that stimulate the immune system of a person.

Cherries are also used as a medical agent for the treatment of gout, because of their ability to reduce uric acid levels. There is even evidence to suggest that antioxidants can help prevent dementia and loss of memory.


Cherries have anti-inflammatory properties, and studies show that they can act as a painkiller with almost the same efficiency as ibuprofen.

These nice stone fruits contain high levels of vitamins A, C and E, as well as small amounts of iron, magnesium and potassium. Furthermore, an important source of fiber and helps digestion.


We offer you five easy recipes with cherries to include them in your diet more often:

 
 1. Topping of cherries

 This fruity dessert is perfect for breakfast, although it may seem a little strange. Remove the pits a few cherries and let them simmer on the stove as they add water, sugar and balsamic vinegar. Then leave them to cool. Mix them and add the zest of 1 lemon and almond extract. Then add them to granola or chopped nuts of your choice. This mix is perfect as a topping on your sour milk.


2. Grilled chicken with cherry sauce

 The fruit sauces are fashionable nowadays and this will not disappoint you. This recipe for grilled chicken with cherry sauce is made in the following manner - used raw, chopped cherries, minced red onion and fresh basil. All this is mixed with fresh lemon juice, balsamic vinegar and honey. With this sauce is abundantly coated chicken breasts and sprinkle with salt and pepper and bake on the grill.


 3. Bread with cherries and rosemary
 
 Focaccia is a traditional Italian bread, often topped with olives, raisins and rosemary. This option is cherry, rosemary and sea salt. Cake combines the sweet and salty taste. Knead dough for bread, leave it to rise, you have to double the size, then shape the bread and press the cherries into the surface. Sprinkle with olive oil, rosemary and sea salt around the bread and put to bake.


 4. Salad with cherries and corn

 Green salad goes together with tart fruit. This salad recipe goes best with baby spinach or arugula, to which add diced celery and onions. Then sprinkled with grains of corn, pitted cherries and everything is watered with vinaigrette sauce and maple syrup.


 5. Salad of chickpeas and cherries

Chickpeas is an excellent source of protein for vegetarians and it is an excellent addition to salads. This recipe is made with spinach, chickpeas, cucumber and lemon juice. Add basil and mint, and then put the soft pitted cherries. You can water the salad with balsamic vinegar and its slice goat cheese on top. Serve cool it.
